Since 2012, the Arnie Isberg Memorial 1-Pitch Tournament has united teams in a powerful display of community spirit, remembrance, and generosity. What began as a heartfelt tribute has grown into a cornerstone event for the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation, raising vital funds for cancer care in the region.

This year’s tournament was a resounding success, raising an impressive $11,365.65 for the Cancer Diagnostic & Treatment Fund, bringing the total raised over the years to more than $200,000. The event continues to be a shining example of what it means to lead with heart.

At the FSJ Hospital’s Community Cancer Centre, organizers Kerri Laurin and Jennifer McBride presented the cheque to Foundation Executive Director Kelly Amboe, marking a milestone made possible through their years of dedication. Both were recognized by the Foundation for their unwavering generosity and community spirit. From volunteering their time and energy to sharing their love of the game, Kerri and Jennifer have helped grow this event that has brought hope, support, and vital resources to countless individuals facing cancer in our community.

“This tournament is more than a fundraiser—it’s a labour of love. We truly appreciate the amount of time, energy and work it takes to put on an event like this year after year.” said Amboe. “It’s a testament to the strength and compassion of our community.”

As the tournament continues to grow, it remains a beacon of support for those facing cancer diagnosis and treatments, proving that when a community comes together, remarkable things can happen.
