The FSJ Hospital Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the first Summer Scrap Drive. ABC Recycling, McLean Welsh modeled this drive after a similar event held each year in Campbell River. This event raised over $26,000 in Campbell River and McLean is confident with local industry in the North Peace that FSJ can beat that total. This event not only serves as a fundraiser for the FSJ Hospital Foundation, but as an event to create some friendly competition and recycle scrap metal. The corporation that recycles the most metal between August 12, and September 12 will be awarded a one of a kind hand crafted cowboy hat made entirely from metal by Bischoff Welding. The winning company will have the privilege of displaying this trophy until next year’s Summer Scrap Drive. All the proceeds from metal collected through this fundraiser will be donated to the FSJ Hospital Foundation, to further enhance healthcare in the North Peace Region. The whole community is invited to participate in the Summer Scrap Drive on September 14 at the North Peace Arena. From 10am to 1pm bins will be available for your household metal. This is your chance to get rid of appliances, patio furniture, vehicle parts, bikes and more. The FSJ Hospital Foundation Team will be on location with ABC Recycling to share the work we do.
