Sue Popesku was posthumously honoured with the 2020 Janet Taylor Award for her extraordinary contributions to the FSJ Hospital Foundation and the broader community. As the Foundation’s inaugural Executive Director, Sue helped launch cornerstone initiatives like Bluey Day and Light a Light which evolved into the Be an Angel Tree. Her passion for arts, culture, and heritage shaped Fort St. John for decades, including her work with the museum and regional arts councils. Sue’s warmth, creativity, and tireless advocacy left a lasting legacy. Her husband, Sorin, accepted the award on her behalf, celebrating a life devoted to building a stronger, more compassionate community.
