[FORT ST. JOHN, October 3, 2023] – The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce the launch of its annual Be an Angel Campaign, set to unfold throughout the months of October and November. The campaign is traditionally inaugurated with proclamations from the City of Fort St. John and the District of Taylor, acknowledging the vital role played by the FSJ Hospital Foundation in enhancing healthcare in the North Peace region.
The Be an Angel Campaign is a comprehensive campaign that invites our community to actively participate through a range of engaging activities and events, including the Be an Angel Mailout and Angel Tree, the Be an Angel Gala, and the eagerly anticipated Light a Moose Radiothon.
Community supporters will soon receive the annual mailout from the FSJ Hospital Foundation starting in October 1. The mailout provides donors with the opportunity to contribute in memory of a loved one or in honour of a special person, accompanied by a traditional paper angel ornament. These paper angel ornaments will be proudly displayed on the Angel Tree at the Totem Mall from November 13 through to the New Year.
The Be an Angel Gala, a cherished tradition that marks the beginning of the holiday season in the North Peace, this year with a 1920s theme, is set for November 4th at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, auctions, and honour community supporters, with the Janet Taylor Award for exceptional volunteerism and the “I Remember Quilt” for commemorating loved ones.
Each year, the FSJ Hospital Foundation partners with Moose FM for the annual Light a Moose Radiothon. Scheduled for November 15-17, the event will be broadcast live on location from 6 am to 6 pm at the Chances Casino FSJ parking lot. Funds raised during this event will be allocated towards acquiring a Phillips Epiq Elite Ultrasound Machine for the FSJ Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department, enabling them to better serve the communities patient population.
This year, the FSJ Hospital Foundation’s goal is to raise $350,000 through the Be an Angel Campaign, making it the largest annual healthcare support initiative in our community for our community. Throughout the month of November, The FSJ Hospital Foundation eagerly seeks the active engagement and collaboration of our community, encouraging participation to create a positive impact on local healthcare and the overall well-being of our community.
