This year, ABC Recycling is once again challenging our community to a friendly competition to see who can collect the most scrap metal. From old vehicles and worn-out equipment to miscellaneous metal taking up space around your property—we want it all!
From July 1 to September 1, 2026, all proceeds from collected scrap metal will be donated directly to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation, helping enhance healthcare services right here at home.
Last year, our community raised an incredible $22,102.86. This year, we’re setting our sights even higher with an ambitious goal of raising $50,000 for local healthcare initiatives.
Win the Bischoff Trophy
The top contributor will earn ultimate bragging rights and take home the coveted Bischoff Trophy—a one-of-a-kind handcrafted cowboy hat made entirely from scrap metal, generously created by Bischoff Welding. This unique piece of art will be proudly displayed in the winner’s office until next year’s competition.
In 2025, Josh Gilmour of Element Disposal claimed the title and took home the trophy. Who will be crowned the 2026 champion?
How to Get Involved
- Gather your scrap – from cars and car parts to old patio sets, lawn mowers & household appliances – every piece counts.
- Drop it off at ABC Recycling in Fort St. John or arrange a pickup.
- Follow us to track your progress and see how you stack up against other local teams.
Whether you’re a business, a community group, or just someone with a pile of metal to spare, your contribution makes a difference.
