Valued at $175,000, this equipment will significantly expand the hospital’s diagnostic capacity—serving an additional 1,820 to 2,600 patients annually in the Medical Imaging Department.
2020–2022 – Consistent Commitment to Community Care
Over these three years, Shell Canada-Groundbirch demonstrated unwavering support for the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation and the broader community. In 2020, they contributed $20,000 to the Greatest Need Fund in response to COVID-19, along with an additional $10,000 to the Light a Moose Radiothon.
Their generosity continued through 2021 and 2022, with contributions to both the Have a Heart and Light a Moose Radiothons each year—helping fund essential equipment and services for both the hospital and Peace Villa.
2019 – Investing in Diagnostic Accuracy
In 2019, Shell Canada-Groundbirch provided funding for a Paraffin Dispenser in the Fort St. John Hospital Laboratory. 2018 – Dual Impact: Hospital and Residential Care
In 2018, Shell Canada-Groundbirch made two impactful contributions to healthcare in Fort St. John. A $10,000 donation to the Light a Moose Radiothon supported the purchase of essential equipment for the hospital and a $5,000 grant was directed to Peace Villa, helping to fund specialized equipment that enhances the quality of care for long-term residents. This support was made possible through Shell’s community grant program.
2012 – A Grand Opening and a Grand Gesture
In celebration of the grand opening of their new office in Fort St. John, Shell Canada-Groundbirch made a landmark contribution to local healthcare. A total of $200,000 was donated to regional hospital foundations, with $100,000 directed to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation and another $100,000 to the Dawson Creek Hospital Foundation.
This generous gift helped fund critical medical equipment for the Fort St. John Hospital. That year equipment purchases included patient monitors, a CADD pump, a broadband ultrasound probe, and 55 non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) units. These tools enhanced the hospital’s ability to deliver timely and accurate care, marking the beginning of a long-standing partnership rooted in community well-being.
