The FSJ Hospital Foundation is pleased to share that Canadian Natural has made a generous $35,000 donation to support residents at Peace Villa Residential Care Facility in Fort St. John. Canadian Natural has a long history of supporting Peace Villa, focusing on impactful donations that directly improve resident care. This year, their gift will support two OMI Vista interactive digital projectors to Peace Villa, with the remaining amount purchased through donor generosity.

The OMI Vista system is widely recognized in long-term care settings for its ability to stimulate cognition, ease agitation, and foster emotional well-being among residents, particularly those living with dementia. Through light-based games and activities, the projector encourages gentle movement, supports physical rehabilitation, and creates opportunities for social connection between residents, staff, and family members. Its versatility makes it an ideal addition to Peace Villa, offering evidence-based benefits that promote comfort and dignity in care.

Canadian Natural representatives visited the FSJ Hospital to present their donation. “We’re happy to help where we can. Supporting Peace Villa means supporting seniors in our community, and that’s something we’re proud to do.” said Darrin West, Canadian Natural Superintendent.

This year’s gift marks another step toward creating a more compassionate and inclusive care environment for seniors in our community. The FSJ Hospital Foundation will share an update when the OMI Vista systems arrive and are implemented at Peace Villa.

“Canadian Natural’s continued generosity reflects their deep commitment to the well-being of seniors in our region,” said Kelly Amboe, FSJ Hospital Foundation Executive Director. “This donation will make a lasting impact by introducing technology that brings joy, comfort, and connection to residents and their families.”
