FSJ Hospital Foundation Board Chair Desirae Jeannotte opened the evening with heartfelt remarks about upcoming enhancements to the Intensive Care Unit. Both the Be an Angel Gala and the Light a Moose Radiothon are supporting new vital pieces of equipment to enhance our ICU. “Looking ahead, the need remains great, but so does our determination. Together, we will continue to ensure that our hospital thrives, our healthcare professionals are equipped, and that every patient in our region receives the quality care they deserve,” Ms. Jeannotte emphasized. With a record number of healthcare professionals in attendance, the evening underscored the vital role our medical community plays in shaping the future of local healthcare.

The FSJ Hospital Foundation then proudly presented the Janet Taylor Award to Wyatt and Twila Soule, long-standing donors and dedicated volunteers whose unwavering support has left a lasting mark on the Foundation. While only one of them formally served on the Board of Directors, together they have consistently given their time and energy to events, returning year after year. “This award is not about titles or accolades – it’s about heart. It’s about those who show up, lend a hand, and make a difference not for recognition, but because they care,” shared Kelly Amboe, FSJ Hospital Foundation Executive Director.

The Foundation introduced the C.A.R.E. Award or Corporate Acts of Responsibility and Excellence Award, created to honour businesses that go beyond financial contributions to volunteer, advocate, and partner in enhancing patient care. “Tonight’s recipient is a local business that inspired the creation of this award,” noted Jim Reeder, FSJ Hospital Foundation Board Member. The inaugural recipient, Mustang Rentals, has demonstrated exceptional leadership in community giving and hands-on support, including their incredible contributions to the Be an Angel Gala for many years.

The evening concluded with an astounding winning bid on the I Remember Quilt, which went for $25,500 thanks to the generosity of Mat and Jenelle Loewen. Jenelle shared that this donation was made in loving memory of Willie Fehr, saying, “Willie was a wonderful, kind man who took time for everyone. He truly loved God, his family, and the community he lived in.”
