We’re thrilled to welcome Shelley Gallinger to the FSJ Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.

As a lifelong Northerner Shelley is no stranger to healthcare. She spent over 30 years as a nurse in Fort St. John, with most of her career dedicated to the Birthing Centre. Shelley knows firsthand how equipment funded by the Foundation positively affects both healthcare workers and the patients they care for. Purchases, like electric beds, IV pumps, and vital monitors, shaped her deep appreciation of the Foundation’s role in enhancing patient care in our community.

Shelley and her husband Doug raised their three children here in Fort St. John and spent over two decades volunteering in youth sports and activities. Ten years ago, she joined Doug in their retail business, where they were continuously inspired by the generosity of the community leading them to make giving back a priority.

In 2023 Doug and Shelley Gallinger were recognized with the Janet Taylor Award for Home Hardware Building Centre’s long-standing support of the FSJ Hospital Foundation. Since 2000, they’ve contributed nearly $75,000 through donations, barbecues, till drives, and hosting the Have a Heart Radiothon.

Now retired, Shelley is excited to spend time with her grandchildren and continue supporting the community in new ways. Her passion for local healthcare and her lived experience makes her a valuable addition to our Board.

Welcome, Shelley! We’re so glad to have you on board.
