Kaylie’s Story

Kaylie Willeboor, is the first recipient of the FSJ Hospital Foundation Award offered to the students attending the UNBC Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program here in Fort St John at the NLC campus. “Receiving this award holds significant meaning for me. Your award now allows me to concentrate on my studies and strive to become the best nurse I can be. This support not only eases the financial burden of education but also serves as a reminder of the strong support within the northern community. Being from Fort St John, I chose to continue my education here. Currently in my third year of the Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program, I anticipate graduating in 2025 as a Registered Nurse. These programs have provided me the opportunity to remain in my hometown, and with the generosity of donors like you, I can successfully pursue my post-secondary education. Upon graduation, I plan to stay in the north. Being from Fort St. John, I understand the pressing need for healthcare workers and the constant shortage of resources. I am grateful for your support, and I look forward to giving back to the community that has supported me. Thank you once again for helping me achieve my goals.”
