FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[FORT ST. JOHN, November 21, 2023] – The spirit of generosity and collaboration of the Fort St. John community shone brightly during the 20th Light a Moose Radiothon, held from November 15 to 17 at the Chances Casino Parking Lot.
The fundraising event saw an impressive turnout of nearly 200 donors, raising a total of $197,000. NorthRiver Midstream, Mustang Rentals, and PETRONAS Canada generously matched donations, each contributing an additional $20,000.
The substantial funds generated will be directed towards the acquisition of an advanced Phillips Epiq Elite Ultrasound machine for the Fort St. John Imaging Department. This cutting-edge equipment will significantly expand the department’s capacity, enabling it to accommodate an additional 1,820 to 2,600 patients annually.
Kelly Amboe, Executive Director of the FSJ Hospital Foundation said, “Our community stepped up once again to help us reach our goal because so many people saw the need for this piece of equipment”. She added, “We are greatly appreciative to the community for being part of this as this benefits the whole community.”
Now celebrating its 20th year, the Light a Moose Radiothon has surpassed a remarkable milestone by raising over $1.2 million for the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation.
