Foundation looking to fill Executive Director Position

A dedicated volunteer board of directors is responsible for leading the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is dedicated to working with the community to raise and manage funds to enhance patient care and comfort at the Fort St. John Hospital and Peace Villa Residential Care. Through generous community members and donors, patient care and comfort have been the forefront of the Foundations actives. The Foundation has successfully raises over half a million dollars annually ensuring the equipment it needs to provide quality health care to residents and visitors to the Fort St. John Hospital and Peace Villa Residential Care facilities are met. Through various fund raising activates and the ongoing contributions from members, donors and volunteers the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation has had a lasting impact on health care in Fort St. John and the surrounding areas.

We are seeking an Executive Director to oversee the operations and financial management of the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation. Guided by the Foundation’s Strategic Plan, the Executive Officer will implement leading philanthropic strategies to increase financial support for the Fort St. John Hospital and Peace Villa Residential Care. The Executive Director will report to the Foundation’s Board of Directors through the Board Chair and Executive Committee, and will work with Foundation volunteers, hospital leadership and our donors and community to develop, implement and deliver successful fundraising initiatives and campaigns. Working with a small team, the Executive Director provides oversight and leadership of business development, all aspects of fundraising, donor relations and community engagement. The Foundation is seeking a result driven, creative, strategically thoughtful, and collaborative individual with fundraising experience who can grow the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation and the future of quality health care services in Fort St. John and surrounding areas.


Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:


Required:


 College or University Degree in Fundraising/Business or related discipline
 Minimum 5 years’ experience in non-profit and fund development planning and management
 Budget planning and management experience
 Proven skills to successfully communicate including written, interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and presentation skills
 Experience with a wide range of development activities including capital campaigns, direct mail, legacy, and endowment giving, estate giving, major gifts, and special events
 Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification is an asset
 Ability to work independently and cooperatively with a small team of dedicated staff and volunteers
 Proficiency in MS Office database software
 Knowledge of investment principals, charitable gift vehicles, tax and estate planning
 Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
 Advocates and supports a culture of patient comfort and care and demonstrates an understanding of hospital needs and able to collaborate with the Fort St. John Hospital and Peace Villa Residential Care needs

 Management, budgeting: 5 years

Non-profit fund development: 5 years
